John Pont 1927-2008

Legendary Miami football player and coach, and charter member of the Miami Athletic Hall of Fame, John Pont passed away Tuesday morning, he was 80 years old.

I've known John since I began working Miami broadcasts in the early 80's. John was the color analyst, working with Omar Williams on the broadcasts. Much of what I've learned about the game of college football was learned through working with John and listening to his analysis.

I will always be grateful for the opportunity to have known and worked with such an amazing individual.
